Tour Overview

This safari can be offered as budget safari, mid-range safari, luxury safari or a mix these budget levels. Our
guests will be staying in different types of lodges and tented camps, depending on their preference. We
always strive to provide a perfect balance of quality and price.
Every night, your Driver Guide will discuss with you the program of the next day. Depending on your wishes
and the options the program offers, you will together decide on the time of departure, when you would like
to return to your lodge or tented camp, and whether you would like to have lunch at the lodge or while
underway, in which case lunch boxes will be provided at the lodge.
The itinerary will depend on your time of arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (mainland Tanzania) and
your departure from Abeid Amani Marume International Airport (Zanzibar).

Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival Day

Today, your Driver Guide will meet you at Kilimanjaro Airport. Depending on your time of arrival he will bring you to Arusha or directly to your lodge in Tarangire National Park (or near the entrance of the park).

Day 2: Tarangire National Park – Karatu

Tarangire National Park is famous and special for its diverse landscape and nine different vegetation zones. As you begin your safari and game drive, you will be welcomed by the ancient and gigantic Baobab trees, which make even animals like the giraffe look tiny.
You game drive goes on till about late afternoon and includes a top for a picnic lunch. The 3,000 square kilometres park gets its name from the Tarangire River that flows through it. The river attracts a lot of diverse animals, and you should be able to spot a lot of elephants, giraffes, lions, antelopes, and zebras.
Tarangire National Park has the highest concentration of elephants, which offers a unique chance for you to observe interactions between elephant families.

At the end of the day, after the game drive, you will drive to the city of Karatu for your dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Karatu – Ngorongoro Crater – Serengeti National Park (Central)

Early morning, you will leave your lodge in Karatu to visit the world famous Ngorongoro Crater. You will enjoy both your breakfast and lunch at one of the dedicated picnic places in the crater. The crater is one of Africa’s impressive geological attraction and supreme mecca of wilderness.
The Ngorongoro Crater is the world’s largest inactive, intact, and unfilled volcanic caldera. It has a massive floor of about 260 square kilometres with a depth of over 2000 feet.

The game drive in the crater floor will show you a lot of animal action. Keeping the camera ready is definitely recommended. The African elephant, buffalo, black rhino, hippos, hyenas, cheetahs, and lions are found in plenty.

At the end of the day, you will leave the Crater to drive to the world-famous endless plains of Serengeti National Park (Serengeti NP).
The overall land area of Serengeti measures 14,763 square kilometres and the park houses the glorious “Big 5” (elephant, rhino, buffalo, lion, and leopard). Along with the “Big 5”, a very pleasant sighting would be one of Africa’s most beautiful animals – the Impala. The legendary Serengeti National Park is the most renowned safari destination for its incredible population of lions and leopards.
The central part of Serengeti – known as “Seronera” area is one of the richest wildlife habitats in the park. It features the Seronera River, which provides a valuable water source to this area and therefore attracts wildlife well representative of most of the Serengeti’s species.

In Seronera, one must really look out for the many lion prides that thrive in this region. You must also look out for the Serengeti “Kopjes” which are massive boulders of granite standing in a sea of grass. They provide ample shelter to a large variety of flora and fauna.
The eventful day comes to an end with dinner and a good night’s rest in the accommodation of your choice in Central Serengeti.

Day 4: Serengeti National Park

Today, you will have a full day Game Drive in the central part of Serengeti NP

You will overnight and have dinner in the accommodation of your preference.

Day 5: Serengeti National Park – Zanzibar

Today marks the end of your private safari. After breakfast, you will start your morning game drive. You will take your lunch boxes with you. In the afternoon, your driver/guide will bring you to the Seronera Airstrip in Central Serengeti for your flight to Zanzibar.
Upon arrival at Abeid Amani Karume International Airport, Zanzibar, transport will be arranged to bring you to your “home away from home” for the next 5 days, the accommodation of your choice.
