At the agreed time, we will meet you at your lodge in Arusha and drive to Tarangire National Park. This park is known for its large elephant population and giant Baobab trees. Tarangire River is a permanent source of water for the entire park, serving the wildlife. You may expect to spot lions, leopards, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs, buffalos, giraffes, wildebeest, and zebras. Bird life is abundant in this park with over 400 bird species recorded. Packed lunch will be served inside the park. You will have dinner and overnight inside the park.
Today, you will enjoy another day in beautiful Tarangire National Park. In the course of the afternoon, after the game drive, you will drive to the city of Karatu for your dinner and overnight.
Early morning, you will leave your accommodation in Karatu to visit the world famous Ngorongoro Crater, the world’s largest inactive, intact, and unfilled volcanic caldera, with its own ecosystem, home to a wide variety of wildlife, which stays within the crater. You will descend into the Crater floor for a wonderful game drive (picnic lunch will be served at the crater floor). It is one of the few places where the black rhino can be observed in its natural habitat. The crater has about 2000 ft high walls and very few animals are migrating in and out of the Crater. You can expect to see lions, hyenas, jackals, elephants, zebras, hippos, rhinos, antelopes and many bird species including flamingos.
After lunch, you will leave the Crater to drive to the world-famous endless plains of Serengeti National Park. Here you descend into the heart of wild Africa, with Serengeti’s endless plains, rolling into the distance as far as the eye can see. We drive to the central area of the park, known as “Seronera”, one of the richest wildlife habitats of the park. It features the Seronera River, which provides a valuable water source to this area and therefore attracts wildlife well representing most of Serengeti’s species. After this impressive day, you will overnight in one of the accommodations in Seronera area.
Today, you will have a full day Game Drive in the central part of Serengeti National Park. In Seronera, one must really look out for the many lion prides that thrive in this region. You must also look out for the Serengeti “Kopjes” which are massive boulders of granite standing in a sea of grass. They provide ample shelter to a large variety of flora and fauna. After another eventful day, you will overnight in one of the accommodations in Seronera area.
Today marks the end of your private safari. After breakfast, you will be traveling back toward Arusha, with a game drive en route. You will take your lunch boxes with you and will arrive in Arusha at the end of the day, where your safari comes to an end. If you have chosen to combine this safari with a few days at the beautiful island of Zanzibar, your Driver Guide will bring you to Seronera airstrip for your flight to Zanzibar.
